FAQ Answer:

Question:

Do search engines automatically list web sites that are submitted to them?

Answer:

It is not true that Search engines automatically list all of the web sites and pages submitted to them.  Resubmissions are necessary to increase the chances of acceptance by the search engines.  Hopefully all of the pages submitted will appear on all of the search engines to which they are submitted.

However the real question should be the position that each page is placed on the various search engines.

Most of the pages will be accepted by most of the engines, and many of them will appear at the top of the engine list.

It takes work and perseverance to maintain top listings.  This is another reason that re-submissions are necessary and the maximum number of pages from a site should be submitted to the Search Engines
